Dr. Hema Ahuja
Paediatrician
Dr. Hema Ahuja is a General Paediatrician with a special interest in community paediatrics and child development. Dr. Hema completed fellowship training at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead and has worked across Liverpool Hospital, Goulburn Base Hospital and The Canberra Hospital.
Her experience spans the fields of General Paediatrics, Paediatric Emergency, and Developmental Paediatrics. Alongside her work at HealthSync Care in Sydney, she is a Visiting Medical Officer (VMO) at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead.
She has co-authored research published in the Journal of Perioperative Practice (2025) on improving perioperative care pathways for children with neurodevelopmental conditions, developmental delays, and intellectual disabilities. Dr. Hema works closely with families to understand each child’s needs and develop care plans tailored to them.

What is your job?
I work with families and children to medically manage any health issues they may be encountering. I work with families by listening to their requirements and creating treatment plans to match their needs.
What's your favourite part of working with children and families?
Supporting families to achieve the best health outcomes for their children.
If you could have any superpower to help with your job, what would it be?
It would be nice to have the ability to travel through time so I can do all the things I would like to do in one day.
What’s one thing you want to say to parents, carers or families we provide support to?
We are here to support you. Lean on us and communicate your concerns so we can work together to support your child.

Our Approach
Our approach is to empower families to access quality, holistic care for children with neurodevelopmental and behavioural challenges. Families can access our services directly, and we also welcome referrals and collaboration from GPs, paediatricians, and other healthcare providers. This ensures coordinated, comprehensive care, especially for families who prefer their health professionals to remain involved in overall health management.
Our in-house paediatricians are highly capable of managing children’s needs. This collaboration includes expert medication management, continuous monitoring, regular check-ups, and necessary therapies to ensure each child’s well-being. Driven by innovation, we combine the latest advancements with our holistic approach, ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive.
